Total triage model since the pandemic
We prioritise delivering care and services based on clinical needs.

This will assess the most appropriate way to support you and allocate the most appropriate clinician.
Or your local pharmacy for clinical advice on minor health concerns. For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice 111.nhs.uk
Appointment Reminders
The Practice now has the capability to send text messages direct to your mobile telephone. This service covers:
- Appointment reminders
- Campaign messages, e.g. flu vaccination reminder
Details regarding registering for this service can be found on the SMS Text Messaging Poster.
Urgent Appointments
Urgent appointments can be booked on the day. If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP usually within 2 to 3 weeks, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP.
Same Day Appointments
We are a busy practice, and providing some same day appointments makes it easier for you to see a doctor quickly. 55% of our GP appointments are same day appointments.
Routine Appointments
As part of our on-going plan of improvements you can now generally book appointments up to 6 weeks in advance. If you know that you need a non-urgent or review appointment we encourage you to book it well in advance to ensure you can see the Doctor or Nurse at a date and time that is convenient to you. Please don’t wait until the last moment to book an appointment. Please phone after 10.30am to avoid busy times.
Practice Nurse Appointments
Our Practice Nurse treats patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within one working day. You can book up to a month ahead for clinics – please see the ‘our services’ section.
Interpreter
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.
Cancel an Appointment
If you are no longer able to attend your appointment, or if you wish to change or cancel, please inform reception as soon as possible.
You can cancel by replying “cancel” to your text message reminder, online, or by phone.
You can cancel your appointment online using www.patientaccess.com
If you fail to notify the practice you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter/SMS Message informing you that you have missed an appointment. Persistent defaulters may be removed from the practice list.

Role of Reception
Our receptionists are the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. Nonetheless, it is your right to request to talk only to the doctor. Anything that is discussed with the receptionists or any other member of the team is treated in strict confidence. You have a right to be treated courteously, and our receptionists also have a right to be treated courteously by you. Should you wish to speak to any member of staff in private we will meet your request. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.
Home Visits
Wherever possible we ask patients to come to the surgery. However, we can arrange a home visit if your condition means you cannot attend the Health Centre.
Please telephone the surgery on 01902 405200 before 12.00pm to request a home visit. When requesting a home visit our receptionists will ask for details about the reason for the request. In some cases we may arrange for a Doctor or the Practice Nurse to speak to you prior to arranging a visit. Please note that you do not have the right to a home visit.
Home visits are normally made between 12.00pm and 3.00pm.
