How to get a Prescription
If you think you may need a prescription please make an appointment with the doctor. If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, such as hay fever, we may be able to issue a prescription after a telephone consultation. Please ask the receptionist. Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor will decide who can have a repeat prescription. From time to time we will ask you to see your doctor to review your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and medication. If you repeatedly fail to attend for a medication review the Practice may consider reducing the amount of medication it is willing to prescribe on a repeat basis until such time as you have had a medication review.
How to Order Repeat Prescriptions
Online
If you have access to a computer you can register to use the Patient Access to order repeat medication online. All you have to do to register is call in at the surgery and ask one of the Reception Team for the Patient Access Registration Forms. Sign in to Patient Access
You can also submit your repeat prescription via the NHS App.
In Person
You can visit the surgery when the Reception is open or request a repeat prescription by post (please include a stamped addressed envelope with your request). You should only request the medication you require and, wherever possible, please give the exact drug names when ordering. Please allow at least 1 working day before collecting your repeat prescription.

Medication reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. Please book a routine appointment for your review.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We are now able to send your prescription electronically to the pharmacist of your choice, which would save you coming to the practice to collect the prescription. You should ask your pharmacy for further information on this service.
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.
Questions about your prescription or medication
If you think there is something not quite right with your medication, please contact the practice/pharmacy as soon as possible to raise your concerns.
Your local pharmacists can also answer any questions about your prescription. They can answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
